A few months ago Hania and I went down to Miami to see a Spanish comedy at the Tower Theater in Little Havana. It was a pleasant outing - I bought two bottles of Asturian cider in the Colon Supermarket down the street - but the film, about the romance of a Basque and an Andalucian, was silly and lame. Recently I read that it is now the highest grossing film in Spanish history. The news made me realize that I could never live in Spain. Then I checked to see what the highest grossing movie in U.S. history is, expecting something equally embarrassing. I was happy to find it is Gone With the Wind.
