No, he said, and then explained that, for him, soccer was a European and South American game. (He's from Peru.) America has its own sports, one of which, basketball, he loves. Baseball, he said, was the sport of geeks, with all its statistics, which he could appreciate. And football was the most popular sport. But basketball, he noted, was the most socially responsible, with more black coaches and owners than any other.
