Last night at the Broward Center, the Bossa Nova singer Bebel Gilberto, in only her third number, wandered too far with her microphone, pulling the stand down onto the music stand of her guitarist, who watched in amusement as his music sheets fell to the floor. It set the tone for a somewhat silly performance that seemed at odds with the cool, smart, sophisticated character of the music.
