The streets of Philadelphia are now decorated with small statues of donkeys, each one painted with scenes representative of a state. It's in preparation for the Democratic convention taking place in the city later this month. It is hard to imagine a better place for a  political gathering in these divisive times than the City of Brotherly Love. Strolling the streets you pass Episcopal churches, Lutheran churches, Presbyterian churches, Quaker meeting houses, synagogues, an AME church - many of them historic, reminders of a time when Americans, or at least Pennsylvanians, were tolerant of differences.
