When I called my mother Sunday evening and told her about the movie, she asked how much the tickets cost.
"In Philadelphia we used to go to the movies for five cents," she said. "There was a theater on South Street. The whites would sit in the middle and the blacks would sit on the sides. Isn't that awful? But that's the way it was."
