The commentators during Serena Williams' second round loss at the French Open yesterday were at a loss to explain how off form she was.

I mentioned this to a young woman who knows nothing about tennis but does follow pop culture. She said she heard that Serena had attended the Kanye West-Kim Kardashian wedding over the weekend, an event that could take a lot out of anybody, even a world-class athlete.

Perhaps tennis commentators, at least in Serena's case, need to keep up on celebrity gossip.
