My friend Evan wrote from Baltimore yesterday:
It was fun driving to work this morning - I drive through downtown and the remnants of a long and deep party were still in evidence. Apparently, 83 was shut down last night with too many cars, so people got out and celebrated on the highway. One cool scene: driving past the main courthouse where there's a statue of Cecilius Calvert, Lord Baltimore (17th century chap) - he's draped in a purple cape. Milling around near him were about a dozen people all reading the Sun with the "CHAMPS" headline - men in expensive suits, dudes who looked semi-homeless, etc. all smiling, laughing, hugging. A fine day to be in Baltimore. Just before I slipped back onto I-95 from downtown, I passed Ravens Stadium. I could see the massive scoreboard inside showing John Harbaugh's press conference. I'm not certain who was there watching it, but still . . .
