NPR is asking listeners for suggestions in its search for 50 great voices in recording history. We are a famously parochial nation - despite (or because of) our immigrant history - but music is an international language (even singing). So I hope some room will be made on the list for Amalia Rodrigues, Jacques Brel, Umm Kulthum, and Asha Bhosle.
