It costs MONEY (and lots of it!) to make the improvements which are now mandated and dictated by the local and state agencies (building department, board of health, etc) as well as the insurance carriers. Unfortunately, the general traveling public will NOT pay the rates that these improvements dictate.

I own a 20-room “Smart Gay Resort” on which I personally spent $1.2 million dollars to improve and “make attractive". To ask for a Guest stay for les than a week in February is crazy - the travelling public needs to realize this.
