The travel writers' meeting in Miami was really a travel editors' meeting, a good number of whom were former newspaper travel editors. We bemoaned, of course, what's happened to our old sections, the industry in general, but occasionally we acknowledged how lucky we had been, working in travel when newspapers were flush.
